July 30th – Sebastian Vettel clinched the win at the Hungarian Grand Prix, claiming his fourth win of the season as Lewis Hamilton was the ideal team member and stuck to his word by letting Valtteri Bottas pass him on the final corner of the final lap.
August 27th – After solidifying the title of “finest British sportsman of his generation”, Lewis Hamilton clinched the win at the Belgian Grand Prix, his 200th Formula 1™ race and his fifth win during the 2017 season.
September 3rd – “Beast mode all the way,” were Lewis Hamilton's words after becoming the first driver to win back-to-back races during the 2017 season. Hamilton claimed this is was moment everything changed as he dominated the Italian Grand Prix from start to finish.
September 17th – Lewis Hamilton asked for a miracle to win the Singapore Grand Prix, and a miracle was presented to him by his title rival, Sebastian Vettel as he crashed out in the opening lap and Hamilton emerged from the debris and smoke to take the lead and win his third race in a row.
October 1st – Upon celebrating his 20th birthday the day before the race, Red Bul's, Max Verstappen, gave himself the best birthday gift and clinched his second win of the season taking only four laps to overhaul Lewis Hamilton's lead.
October 8th – He does it again! Lewis Hamilton takes home the checkered flag in Japan placing him in a 59-point lead over Sebastian Vettel.
October 22nd - Lewis Hamilton swept the track at Circuit of The Americas for the United States Grand Prix, winning at this venue 6 times, which is more than anyone else. Max Verstappen ended in fourth place due to a five second penalty for advancing past Valterri Bottas around the last turn.,
What Does This Mean?
Hamilton can come in fifth place and still claim the 2017 World Championship title. Last year, he won the race in Mexico, so we think it is safe to say this is the year of Lewis Hamilton.
