What It's Like to Experience FORMULA 1 GRAN PREMIO DE MEXICO™ as a VIP

By Jazzy Morgan

We sat down with one of our Sales Executives, Daniel Merino, who has had the privilege of attending the FORMULA 1 GRAN PREMIO DE MEXICO for the past two years through GRAN PREMIO DE MEXICO VIP. After receiving some of his feedback, we’re ready to pack our bags and head to Mexico City, tomorrow!

What is your most memorable moment when attending F1 GRAN PREMIO DE MEXICO?

The people! People in Mexico are devoted fans of F1. The atmosphere you feel when you walk on the track and when you are up in the grandstands is unlike anything I’ve ever experienced.

How many times have you attended the race?

I have been lucky enough to attend the Mexican Grand Prix the past 2 years and would like to keep going every year!

What was your favorite part of The Speed Lounge Hospitality Venue at Autódromo Hermanos Rodríguez?

The Speed Lounge VIP Hospitality is a fantastic addition to your Official Ticket Packages. Having access to this hospitality venue gives you and your guests the opportunity to escape the weather. The food in the Speed Lounge is amazing, being a Mexican inspired cuisine also made it every appropriate. The hospitality service inside make you feel like a true VIP.

What was unique about this racetrack compared to any others you’ve been to?

The Foro Sol Stadium Section is an exciting place to be. Whether you are in the Formula One Paddock Club or seated in the Foro Sol Grandstand you are immersed in the thrill of the race when cars go by and during the exclusive Trophy Presentation.

How would you describe your experience in one sentence?

The Mexican Grand Prix is a F1esta.

Autodromo Hermanos Rodriguez

What did you do when you weren’t attending races in Mexico City?

Mexico City is such an amazing city with so much to do. I love food so most of my activities included eating the local cuisine. I also visited the Pyramid of the Sun in Teotihuacan which is around 1 hour away from the city and is one of the largest points around the Aztecan culture.

What reactions did you see from Formula 1™ fans during the race? What does it mean to them to have such a prestigious race in Mexico City?

People were crying, smiling, shouting, and jumping, especially when Checo Perez drove passed during the Mexican Grand Prix. Mexican people are very proud of their country, as they should be, so they are all thrilled that F1™ came back to Mexico and are excited to see more Mexican drivers in the grid.

What advice would you give to future attendees of this race?

Try to extend your stay in Mexico. There is a lot to do in Mexico City, so if you are coming from outside of the country, you should definitely plan a vacation around the races. If you are local to Mexico, I would suggest including the VIP Hospitality to give you the ultimate experience.

How would you describe the Formula One Paddock Club™? Why do you think it’s important for people to include this in their overall experience during GRAN PREMIO DE MEXICO?

The Formula One Paddock Club™ is one of the best activations during the whole F1™ Championship. What makes it special in Mexico is that it has two areas available to you, above the pits and by the Foro Sol Stadium. This gives you access to two different views of the track for the price of one, which is a great way to think of it when you are planning your purchase. In addition, the hospitality level that Formula One Paddock Club™ brings is one of the best in the sporting industry.

Would you like to go again in the future?

Most definitely, it is an amazing race and a great vacation spot.

Official GRAN PREMIO DE MEXICO VIP Ticket Packages come with exclusive access to the race that you cannot obtain anywhere else, for an unmatched experience! Complete with VIP parking, pit lane walks, gourmet food and premium open bars in climate controlled hospitality venues. Whether you want to be as close as possible or up in the Skybox, with any of these packages it is sure to be a weekend you will never forget.
